Vows to Vittles: Handcrafted Wedding Signs Built to Feed a Lifetime

Wedding signs usually end up collecting dust in an attic after the reception. But not anymore. Coonhound Woodworks has brought Vows to Vittles to give that wood a permanent job.

We handcraft a solid two-panel welcome display for your ceremony right here in Georgia. Once the wedding wraps, you ship the wood back to our workbench. We remove the original engraving, refinish the maple, and rebuild it as something you’ll use for a lifetime – a cutting-board set, a personalized wall sign, or custom décor for your home.

And yes! Every order contributes to our annual commitment to donate 5% of proceeds to local pet shelters.

Solid Hardwood for the Ceremony

We build every sign from sustainably harvested, face-grain hard maple laminated from solid 3-inch-wide strips. This gives the wood the heft it needs at the venue and the durability it needs under a kitchen knife years later.

Sign Dimensions

Two vertical panels, each measuring 72 inches tall × 12 inches wide × 3/4 inch thick. With a 1.5-inch center gap, the complete display is approximately 25.5 inches wide.

Workshop Craftsmanship

Built with honest materials in our shop, serving couples who want custom wedding signs in Cumming and across North Georgia.

Laser Engraving

We engrave your names, wedding date, vows, or custom artwork directly into the maple. If you want a personalized wedding sign in Lawrenceville, you work directly with Rick to lock in the layout before we start cutting.

Bring us the scenery, wording, or small detail that means something to the two of you. We will work it into a design that reads well from the entrance and looks right in your photographs.

Turning the Sign into Something You’ll Cherish

After the celebration, the panels come back to our Cumming shop. We remove the original engraving and refinish the maple and create a clean surface for the new size, shape, artwork, and lettering you select.

A Four-Piece Cutting Board Set

We can divide the panels using a material-efficient cutting plan and create four working kitchen boards:

Brisket Board, 24 × 12 × 3/4 inches

Sized for smoked briskets, roasts, and holiday turkeys, with an approximately 1/4-inch perimeter juice groove.

Large Cutting Board, 20 × 12 × 3/4 inches

Built for everyday meal prep, slicing meat, and crusty bread, with a perimeter groove to help contain juices.

Medium Board, 15 × 9 × 3/4 inches

Scaled for vegetables, sandwiches, and daily countertop tasks.

Small Bar Board, 12 × 8 × 3/4 inches

Made for bar prep, citrus, and quick cheese spreads.

We sand every piece smooth and condition it with food-grade mineral oil and board wax. It is a practical choice among custom wedding keepsake gifts in Cumming because it is used rather than sitting in storage.

A New Wall Sign

We can cut and refinish the maple as a custom wall sign for your home. Choose the finished dimensions, layout, lettering, and artwork with our shop. The new engraving may include your family name, wedding date, a line from your vows, a favorite place, or original artwork.

Custom Décor for Your Home

We can also reshape the panels into one larger decorative piece or a coordinated group of smaller display pieces. Choose the size, form, engraving, and finish based on where the décor will be placed.

Add Wedding Flowers to the Finished Design

Selected flowers from the bridal bouquet, groom’s boutonnière, or ceremony arrangements can be preserved in clear epoxy and incorporated into the finished design. Send a few chosen blooms or petals rather than the entire arrangement. We will confirm the quantity, placement, lettering, and epoxy design before starting.

FAQs

How do we ship the panels back after the wedding?

We confirm the return packaging, shipping method, and applicable costs before production begins. Local couples can also arrange to return the panels directly to our Cumming shop.

You only need a general direction at first. The final dimensions, engraving, artwork, and finish can be confirmed before the panels are reworked.

Possibly. Available combinations depend on the dimensions and amount of usable maple. Tell us which pieces you want, and we will plan how the panels can be divided.

When should we send the wedding flowers?

Contact us before the ceremony for handling and transportation instructions. This gives you time to select the flowers and protect them after the wedding.

Timing depends on the wedding date, engraving, floral preservation, selected pieces, and workshop schedule. We confirm the initial sign delivery and second-build turnaround in your project quote.

Cutting boards require handwashing, prompt drying, and occasional conditioning. Wall signs and decorative pieces should be kept dry and cleaned according to their finish. Specific care instructions are included with the completed order.
